  •  $7.15 million for a Northwest family in a wrongful death claim arising from an auto/semi-truck collision.

 

  • $1.32 million in a wrongful death case on behalf of the surviving spouse of a Washington resident who was the victim of a defective drug in a pharmaceutical product liability case.

 

  • $500,000 in a medical malpractice action involving negligent surgery on a 12-year-old girl.

 

  • $1 million recovery for a young woman injured as the result of a defective go-cart.

 

  • $750,000 for two minor children for the wrongful death of their mother during a motor vehicle collision.

 

 

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:

 

  • President, Washington State Bar Association (WSBA). Ron was the first African-American to serve as WSBA President in the organization’s then 114 year history.

WLI was awarded the national American Bar Association Partnership Award (2005), Lexis Nexis Martindale Hubbell Legal Fellowship (2006) and Law Fund of Washington’s President’s Award (2019).

The group engaged in the ongoing education of the Washington Legislature and the populace regarding funding of the state justice system.

Ronald earned his Juris Doctor from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law

Ron is passionate about and proactive in working on behalf of diversity, preservation of the independence of the judiciary, and the f equal access to justice for all.

 

He enjoys speaking and is avidly sought after--locally, nationally and globally.

 

In his free time, he treasures spending time with his beloved wife Reverend Kiti Ward and daughter Sara A. Ward, Esq. who is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center. He also takes pride in serving on his wife's AgapeHouse board for young women who are high-risk for becoming victims of human trafficking.

 

Other favorite pastimes include reading books on his e-reader, listening to music, traveling anywhere with a rich history, volunteering in the community and time at the ocean.
